Introduction

The Present:

HighfieldsWinter Weather

(10 points/Specialty major/Ch producer)

The Past:

Ch Highfields Summer Thunder UD (tri) & Ch Highfields Edge of Dawn UD (blue)

The two homebred dogs pictured above (in the frame), Branch (blue) and Rascal (tri) were from my first two litters in shelties. They were both sired by Champion sons of CH Banchory High Born ROM and out of "High Born" granddaughters.
Thanks to Dee Strahan of Cypress Shelties for selling me the two bitches that produced them and giving me such a great start!! Dee was Branchs' co-breeder and owned/bred his sire - Am/Can CH Cypress Blue Buccaneer UD.

Thanks also to Bill and Irene Munsey, Donlyn Shelties for finishing Branchs' Am and Can Championships and for the final major on Rascal...(13 points, one major were owner-handled). Bill and Irene also owned Rascals' sire - Am/Can CH Kismets High Hammock Blue Jay CD.
"Branch" was the first dog to carry the Highfields name. Both dogs were OFA Good.

"Branch" and "Rascal" are now waiting at the Rainbow Bridge, along with many of their descendents
which also include my precious OTCh Highfields First Frost UD (Brooke) and her two sons Highfields Silent Snowfall UDX (Banyan - pts/OTCH pts) and Highfields Wind N' Rain UD (Blizzard - OTCh pts), and I miss them all very much. The only dog I have left from that line is Highfields Icebreaker CDX (Beacon).  My original intention was to combine my old and new lines by breeding my little bi-black bitch, Highfields Free Flight (Glider- from the repeat Aspen x Boomer breeding), to  Beacon, but I discovered he had become sterile and had him neutered.

I "started over" in 1999 when Christy Clark (Glenlyle Shelties) and I purchased a bitch from Jennifer Houchins (Showcase Shelties), Highfields Natures Showcase (Aspen), and bred her to BIS/BISS Ch Shadow Hill's Air Force One (Boomer). Highfields Winter Weather (Badger - 10 points/Specialty major) owned by me, and his bi-black litter sister Glenlyle Fly Bi Night (Lena - 6 points) owned by Christy were the result of that breeding. More on these dogs, and some of their relatives can be seen by visiting "Gentlemen", "Ladies" and "Puppy Place".

All my dogs,  past and present, can be seen either by going to my history page where links to their individual pages are listed in chronological order,  or by accessing the different links directly below.
